楽にする 〔安楽にする〕

●体[気]を楽にする take one's ease; unbend oneself

・横になって体を楽になさい. Lie down and relax (yourself).

楽になる 〔快適になる〕 become comfortable; 〔苦痛がやわらぐ〕 〈苦痛が主語〉 be mitigated; be alleviated; 〈人が主語〉 feel relief; get rid of 《pain》; 〔気持ちの負担がなくなる〕 come to feel at ease; 〔生計に余裕ができる〕 be able to live with greater comfort; be better off.

●この薬を飲むと楽になる. You will feel better if you take this medicine. | This medicine will bring [give] you relief.

・少し寝たらだいぶ楽になった. I had a little sleep and now feel a lot better.

・ようやく呼吸が楽になった. I am breathing more easily now.

・老母は早く楽になりたい(=死にたい)とよく言っていた. My old mother often said that she would like to be rid of the burden of living as soon as possible.

・いくら働いても生活は楽にならない. However hard I work, I never seem to be any better off.

・彼女が来てから店の仕事がうんと楽になった. Since the girl came to help us with the shop, we are having a much easier time.

・息子が大学を出ればだいぶ楽になる. When our son leaves college, things will be a lot easier for us (financially).
